Two backbones are better than one!
Unlike many of our competitors, GotBandwidth blends multiple backbones
in our hosting facilities to bring our customers the best connectivity
with unparalleled reliability. By selecting Global Crossing®, and Qwest as our network providers we're able
to automatically select the "best route" for Internet
traffic. Additionally the failure of any single network will have
no impact on customers' hosted in our facilities.
With a fully meshed MPLS-te IP network, Global Crossing® connects to more than 200 cities around the world using over 100,000 route miles of fiber optic cable around the world. Their backbone network is constructed with the latest DWDM (dense wavelength division multiplexing) technology.
Qwest has built one of the fastest networks in the world, with
much of it's backbone running at OC-192 (9.9Gbp) speeds. Because
of their raw network capacity many of our larger competitors simply
wind up buying capacity from Qwest. By utilizing Qwest's CyberCenter
facilities in locations throughout the US, GotBandwidth has direct
access to all of Qwest's business and residential customers, as
well as the substantial number of business and consumer web sites
that are hosted in Qwest's facilities.
