GotBandwidth´s basic T1 service includes network address translation (NAT) for security and simplicity. Using NAT allows businesses to have virtually an unlimited number of computers on their network, without requiring their own IP addresses. This saves on the cost of configuration, makes it easy for the customer to switch service providers.

Security
NAT also provides a basic level of security by isolating the businesses computers from the Internet. Only the customer's router or modem is directly connected. This essentially creates "one way" Internet access from the business towards the Internet. Without NAT more time for configuration is required as well as a costly firewall for security.

Other
With more advanced installations, gotbandwidth can configure NAT to allow inbound access for certain types of services (such as email, a web server, etc) or provision multiple public IP addresses (sic).
